Jody Ingalls’ Bio

A published author with teaching experience at both high school and college level, Jody started studying Kentucky history when her husband was stationed at Ft. Knox in 2006. A BA in English Education from Crown College, St. Bonifacious, MN, along with college and community theater, choral, and directing experience, prompted her to join the Elizabethtown, KY, Downtown Historic Walking Tour (currently in its 32nd season). Jody established Stories to Inspire Kentucky in 2013 as a way to bring several of the characters discovered in the walking tour, including world-famous Swedish Nightingale Jenny Lind, to life for a broader Kentucky audience.

Added characters, one-woman shows, and new eras of vocal performance have broadened Stories to Inspire Kentucky’s audience across the Midwest.

In researching, writing, and performing Stories to Inspire Kentucky’s programs, Jody draws from her theater and education experience, as well as from experts in theater and music production.

Jody currently lives with her husband and five children in central Kentucky. When not teaching or performing, Jody enjoys travel with her family, reading, and managing Castle Hill Haven, their family hobby farm (

Jody can still be seen on Thursday nights during the summer portraying Jenny Lind in the Elizabethtown Downtown Walking Tour.
